Brownsburg’s Fire Service has been serving Brownsburg area since 1942. The firefighters and paramedics of Brownsburg Fire Territory provide fire protection, technical rescue, and emergency medical services to a 52 square mile district in North Eastern Hendricks County. This district includes Brown Township, Lincoln Township, and the Town of Brownsburg.

The DFD provides fire protection services for both Center and Marion Townships. Averaging between 1,500 to 2,000 calls for service a year, the department continues to meet the demands of a growing community with continued dedication and increased efficiency. The Danville Fire Department has two fire stations: Station 191 is located at 77 North Kentucky Street and is home to the Danville Fire Department Administrative Offices. Station 192 is located at 100 Twin Bridges Road and is staffed 24/7 with response personnel.

Fire Department of Liberty Township was formed in January 2000 by a cooperative effort of Cartersburg, Clayton, and Belleville Volunteer Fire Departments. In 2007 Hazelwood merged and became Fire Department of Liberty Township. This combination department provides Fire, Rescue and EMS protection to a population of 5,500 in 35 square miles of primarily rural area. Fire Department of Liberty Township is a nonprofit organization that contracts with the Liberty Twp Trustee and the Town of Clayton.

Represents the state of Indiana in all felony and misdemeanor criminal prosecutions resulting from crimes committed in Hendricks County. The prosecutor’s office also conducts criminal investigations, supervises Grand Jury proceedings, enforces child support orders, conducts juvenile adjudication and prosecution, enforces traffic violations, and provides information and assistance to victims of crime.

Abused and neglected children become involved in the court system due to no fault of their own. In Indiana, these cases are called Child in Need of Services (CHINS) cases. It is so very important that their voice is heard and that their best interests are vocalized. While others involved may have someone speaking for them, these children do not. That’s where a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer comes in! Our local programs mobilize, train and empower volunteers who make a difference by helping judges make informed decisions about what is best for the child’s future. CASA volunteers have face-to-face contact with children sufficient to give fact-based information to the court as the judge considers the direction of the case. CASA volunteers are carefully screened, trained, appointed by the court, and supported by program staff so they can advocate for the child’s best interests and help them have a safe and permanent home as soon as possible.
