IN National Guard Family Assistance Centers
Family Assistance Centers or FAC’s provide support and assistance to service members and their families of all branches. The primary mission of a FAC is to inform and support families before, during and after a deployment so service members can perform their mission and they and their families have a place to go to learn about and receive all of the resources and benefits they have earned. When a new warrior first signs up for service he or she may begin accessing our FACs for services. During times of activation, the FAC is designed to be a focal point for families to get information and assistance with referral to the appropriate service agencies and meet the needs that are associated with mobilization. All through out life Service members, Veterans’ Retirees and their families may contact a FAC for assistance.

VA Medical Foster Homes & Caregivers
Medical Foster Homes are private homes in which a trained caregiver provides services to a few individuals. Some, but not all, residents are Veterans. VA inspects and approves all Medical Foster Homes. A Medical Foster Home can serve as an alternative to a nursing home. It may be appropriate for Veterans who require nursing home care but prefer a non-institutional setting with fewer residents. Medical Foster Homes have a trained caregiver on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This caregiver can help the Veteran carry out activities of daily living, such as bathing and getting dressed. VA ensures that the caregiver is well trained to provide VA planned care. While living in a Medical Foster Home, Veterans receive Home Based Primary Care services. United States Department of Veteran Affairs Offers grants for veterans with severe, service-connected disabilities who require enhanced accessibility. Funds may be used to build or remodel the home for accessibility. Visit the website, send an email ([email protected]), or call the program office for more information.
