At Brooke’s Place, children learn to honor and cherish the loved ones that they carry in their heart. Through peer support groups and therapy services (individual/family counseling), children learn they are not alone. Together, they learn to recognize, express and embrace their thoughts, questions and feelings about grief and loss. We provide caring programs to support grieving children and their families in a safe and confidential atmosphere. Learn more about our Grief Support Group Program, Therapy Services, BP-8 Program and Camp Healing Tree. Brooke’s Place also provides individual grief counseling for young people ages 3 – 20+, and their adult caregivers, who are experiencing a death or are anticipating the death of someone significant. Our Therapy Services offers children and adolescents the opportunity to work one on one with a licensed mental health therapist. Each member of our clinical team has completed extensive training and holds a doctoral degree or mental health licensure in the state of Indiana or is license eligible. Our Therapy Services is fee based. A limited number of scholarships are available. Brooke’s Place does not handle insurance billing. Hendricks Behavioral Hospital offers a full continuum of care through our inpatient and intensive outpatient programming for individual experiencing mental health disorders. We offer two different units for adults experiencing mental health and/or substance used disorders. Foundations is our higher acuity adult psychiatric unit which addresses things such as mania, psychosis, schizophrenia, etc. Foundations uses evidence based programming called Illness Management Recovery. Renew is for adults experiencing things such as self-harm, suicide thoughts or attempts, anxiety, depression or mental health disorder with a substance use disorder component. Renew uses evidence based programming called Seeking Safety.
Hendricks Behavioral Hospital has an inpatient mental health unit for adolescents ages 13 to 17 called Thrive. This unit utilizes evidence based therapy called Zones of Regulation.
Our inpatient stays are between 7 to 10 days and vary according to the individual’s needs. In addition to regular therapy, we also offer a variety of recreational therapies during the stay including: pet therapy, music therapy, art therapy, yoga, health management and anger management.
As part of the process, we offer Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) for both adults and adolescents ages 13 to 17. This is a good step-down for inpatient patients or designed for individuals who may need more than traditional one on one therapy. IOP is offered 5 days per week for 3 hours at a time.
Our hospital offers 24/7 free assessments to determine level of care needed. No appointment is ever needed. We accept Indiana Medicaid, HiP, Presumptive Eligibility Medicaid for inpatient stays, Medicare for inpatient, most commercial insurance, TriCare and self-pay.
